How is the fee/cost structured for the Professional Pilot Training course?
The annual tuition fee for students admitted to the Professional Pilot Training Department is defined as €10,000. In addition to this fee a cost of €35,000 needs to be paid in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th year to pay for the purpose of flight expenses.
What expenses need to be paid with a full scholarship in the Professional Pilot Training course?
For students who have passed the test set by ÖYSM and are entitled to a full scholarship, this scholarship covers the cost of the English preparation year, tuition fees and flight expenses. The scholarship does not account for refectory and accommodation costs.
What happens if I do not want to continue with flights or have been unsuccessful in flying lessons?
The base scores will be considered for students who want to switch to other programs in the event that they do not wish to continue with flights or have been unsuccessful with Pilot Training, but have been successful with academic lessons. Students who have been successful in completing two years of education and PPL flights can graduate with a 2-year associate’s degree.
What licenses will I have upon graduating from the Professional Pilot Training course?
Graduates of this department will obtain a Pilot Training Bachelor’s degree (4 years), a commercial pilot license (CPL) upon completing the ATP (A) course and passing the exams organized by the DGCA, instrument rating (IR) and Flight Instructor (FI) license.

A medical record will have to be obtained at the start of every academic year. The submission of a criminal record is required for registration and will suffice for the duration of the course. A request can however be made to present this record if deemed necessary.

Departments of 2 years will be completed in 3 years if English preparation school is to be studied. Although the (sea) training is not compulsory, the students are free to complete their (sea) training. The students completing their (sea) training are qualified to take the GASM (licence exam), and will receive Restricted Officer of Watch (ROW) licence.

What is the difference in between the Maritime Faculty and the Maritime Academy?
The main difference in between the Maritime Faculty and the Maritime Academy is the type of score received from the ÖSYM exam result. The other difference is the language of the education, the Maritime Faculty is in English and the Maritime Academy is in Turkish. The licence obtained from both the Maritime Faculty and the Maritime Academy is the same.
