Decisions Taken by The TRNC Communicable Diseases High Committee

AS OF 29.11.2021 DIGITAL TRAVEL DOCUMENTS MUST BE FILLED IN WITHIN 72 HOURS BEFORE TRAVEL

To create a digital travel document:

It is mandatory to download the Stay Safe application from Apple Store or Android Market to your smart devices, create a Digital Travel Document from within the application, and keep this with you digitally upon entry.

  • Those who do not have a smart device must fill out the Digital Travel Document at www.guvendekalkktc.com. They must keep the completed form with them as a printout when they enter the country.

People who will enter our country and who do not need to go into quarantine according to the country entry criteria, will create a Digital Travel Document from the “Travel Code Transactions” section of the “Stay Safe Application”. People aged between 6 and 12 who will enter our country will also create a Digital Travel Document from this section.

People who do have to go into quarantine according to the country entry criteria and who can provide an address in our country, will create a Digital Travel Document from the “Wristband Transactions” section of the “Stay Safe Application” (except those under 12 years old).

People who do not provide an address of residence in our country and who will stay in central quarantine in designated central quarantine hotels according to the colour codes of the country they come from will create a Digital Travel Document from the “Travel Transactions Code” section of the “Stay Safe Application”.

Citizens of the Republic of Turkey can upload their HES codes, vaccination documents and PCR test results to the Digital Travel Document.

People who will enter the country can save their vaccination documents and PCR test results by using the cameras of their devices to scan the QR code on the vaccination documents and PCR test results with the QR reader in the application.

  1. People who will enter quarantine will go to their stipulated address of residence, with their own vehicles either alone or accompanied by a driver. People who do not comply with the quarantine rules at their address of residence will be sent to central quarantine and will pay the quarantine fees themselves. Wristbands are not fitted to people under 12 years of age for the purpose of quarantine.

TRNC the Ministry of Health Decisions taken by the Communicable Diseases High Committee / Country Entry Requirements

A) COUNTRY COLOURS

The entry criteria to the country from overseas will be as stated below. The country colours stated in the criteria will be updated every week.

The up to date country colour codes table and entry criteria will take effect on the Monday after it is published by the Communicable Diseases High Committee.

(From 18.08.2021 onwards).

B) RULES TO BE APPLIED ACCORDING TO COUNTRY CODES

People who have travelled to these countries in the last 14 days are forbidden from entering the country.

TRNC citizens will be able to enter the country on the condition of a negative PCR test result from within the last 72 hours and upon entry to the island, and 14 days of quarantine.

RED
VACCINATED or HAVE HAD THE DISEASE;

Pre-departure negative PCR result from the last 72 hours.

5 days quarantine

Note: Vaccinated people who will come from the United Kingdom will be able to enter the country without going into quarantine until 31.08.2021. A reassessment will be made on the specified date.

UNVACCINATED:
Pre-departure negative PCR result from the last 72 hours.

7 days quarantine.

Covid-19 tests will be performed at all entry gates to people coming from these countries regardless of whether they have been vaccinated.

ORANGE
VACCINATED or HAVE HAD THE DISEASE;

Pre-departure negative PCR result from the last 72 hours.

Quarantine-free entry

UNVACCINATED
Pre-departure negative PCR result from the last 72 hours.

5 days quarantine.

Covid-19 tests will be performed at all entry gates only to unvaccinated people coming from these countries.

GREEN
VACCINATED or HAVE HAD THE DISEASE;

No restrictions.

UNVACCINATED
Pre-departure negative PCR result from the last 72 hours. Quarantine-free entry.

Covid-19 tests will not be performed at the gates on people coming from these countries.

GREY
Whether vaccinated or not, entry to the country will be on condition of a pre-departure negative PCR result from the last 72 hours and 14 days of quarantine.

From 15.08.2021 onwards people who will come from Dark Red-Grey Countries with a student certificate to be notified by the National Education and Culture Ministry or to register as a new student will be able to enter the country on the condition of negative PCR test results from the last 72 hours and upon entry and 14 days quarantine.

C) GENERAL RULES
VACCINATED PEOPLE: Who have completed the vaccination programme. From 14 days after the last dose.

SINOVAC: 2 DOSES

BIONTECH: 2 DOSES

SINOPHARM: 2 DOSES

COMIRNATY (Pfizer/Biontech): 2 DOSES

VAXZEVRIA (Astrazeneca/Oxford): 2 DOSES

COVID-19 Vaccine Janssen / Johnson and Johnson: 1 DOSE

SPUTNIK V: 2 DOSES

MODERNA: 2 DOSES

  • People who have had two doses of a vaccine different from the vaccines mentioned above will be considered as vaccinated.
  • People who have had the Covid-19 disease and six months have passed will be considered as vaccinated if they have 1 dose of vaccine.
  • People who have had the disease: Submit a positive PCR test result taken between 30-180 days prior to travel. These people will be evaluated as vaccinated people.
  • Children under the age of 18 will be able to enter the country with parents who are vaccinated or who have had the disease as stated above based on the category of the country they have travelled from and in accordance with the PCR test rules (children who are 6 years old and over).
  • Passengers will be evaluated based on the country that is in the highest risk group among the countries they have set foot in/ been in, in the last 10 days.

COVID-19 Travelling Preconditions Applicable to Students (05.12.2020)

The risk categories regarding the entrances to our country have been reduced to one single category. In this direction, the people coming to our country from abroad will have to submit their negative PCR tests took in the last 3 days to the official of the Ministry of Health and will have to complete a 10-day quarantine period and upon the completion of the quarantine they will take another PCR test. In case they do not submit their negative PCR test results, they will not be allowed to enter the country.

The children that will enter the country will not be asked for PCR test result.

The PCR tests will be accepted in the Turkish OR English languages only.

The PCR test results that obtained 4 days prior (or before) to the start of travelling date will not be accepted for the entrances to the country. The people that submit this kind of test results will not be allowed to enter the country. The start of travelling date is the first boarding to the flight for connecting flights.

It is a must for the passengers coming from Turkey to TRNC to have QR code on their PCR test results.

Students and/or candidate students with Acceptance Letters travelling to the TRNC will not be required to pay for the 10-Day quarantine fees.

Non-student visitors are however obliged to fulfill the PCR test requirement stated in the above clause. Non-student visitors must pay the quarantine fees (stated below) to one of the given bank accounts prior to travelling and declare valid bank receipt to the Airline upon boarding. Additional PCR tests carried out upon arrival to the TRNC are payable by non-student visitors.

Covid-19 (as of 1st December 2020)

There will be only one category for countries to enter the TRNC as of 1st December 2020

Regarding entry to the TRNC, countries that were previously classified as A, B, C groups according to risk categories, will be evaluated as a single category as of 1st December 2020.

Accordingly, those who will enter the TRNC from abroad will be subject to quarantine for 7 days (As of 14th December a 10-day quarantine stay), provided that they submit a negative PCR test result done in the last 3 days (72 hrs.), and PCR tests will be done at the end of the quarantine.

The Ministry of Health stated that it had been decided to implement some additional cautionary measures by the Infectious Diseases Supreme Committee which convened under the Contagious Diseases Law.

According to the Ministry’s statement, it was decided to extend the quarantine decisions until 31st December 2020 at 23:59.
